MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
As the chairman of our esteemed company, it gives me great pleasure to share with you two vital aspects that lie at the heart of our company - our mission and our commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).
At Amason, our mission statement is more than just a collection of words; it is a guiding light that shapes our actions and propels us forward. It encapsulates the essence of what we stand for and the vision we hold for our company.
Our mission is to provide cutting-edge IT and robotic solutions to the manufacturing industry, offering a comprehensive range of services that cover every aspect of industrial innovation and optimization. We are dedicated to being the One Stop Service for companies seeking exceptional industrial solutions that drive productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
Beyond our business objectives, we are fully devoted to making a positive impact on society and the environment through our corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. We recognize that as a successful company, we carry a significant responsibility to give back to the community and minimize our environmental footprint.
Our current focus on CSR centers around creating opportunities for rural youth in Baan Thabom, a village located in the northeastern periphery of Thailand, bordering Laos, approximately 800 km from Bangkok.
By building a middle and high school in this village, we aim to ensure that graduates from primary education have access to further educational opportunities, serving as a steppingstone towards pursuing college education. This initiative is crucial to the primary education graduates as their returning to basic farming, the predominant livelihood in the area, often results in insufficient income for a decent standard of living.
Additionally, we provide scholarships to support their college education, giving them the freedom to choose their preferred educational institution, not limited solely to Loei province but extending to other provinces, including universities in Bangkok. While they study in Bangkok, we also assist them in obtaining both employment and education simultaneously. This includes creating job opportunities within companies and factories.
Furthermore, as part of our commitment to providing further education for rural youth, our CSR program includes opportunities for some of them to gain valuable experience in Japan. Through a partnership with Gifu Dai-Ichi High School in Japan, we offer qualified students studying in our high school a six-month scholarship that covers board and lodging.
As we focus on enhancing the Japanese language proficiency of Thai rural youth, we have also established a memorandum of understanding with Shiga Bunkyo Junior College in Japan, offering scholarships for a two-year study program leading to an associate degree in Japanese language.
It is important to highlight the significant impact of these language skills on the lives of our fortunate scholarship recipients. These opportunities completely transform their lives, particularly in terms of the job prospects they encounter upon their return to Thailand.
We are also proud to inform you that our CSR initiatives extend beyond providing scholarships for rural youth to pursue further education in Thailand and Japan.
Last year (2023), approximately 250 of our teachers and students participated in training programs focused on sustainable bamboo management, including planting, and harvesting.
Bamboo's potential in rural areas has long been overlooked due to a lack of critical technical skills within local communities. However, the situation is beginning to change.
LICAS News Agency for Asia with its head office in Rome has recognized our CSR efforts and utilized their extensive international network to provide training aimed at building the capacity of bamboo growers. The focus is on promoting sustainable management and utilization of bamboo to enhance the economic, environmental, and social benefits for the community and society.
We aim to integrate indigenous knowledge with scientific approaches, generating multifunctional benefits from bamboo as a plant highly beneficial for climate change mitigation and environmental protection.
You may already know that bamboo trees offer an excellent alternative for carbon sequestration due to their rapid growth rate and large carbon storage capacity.
It is well-known that the reduction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is incentivized through the carbon credit trading system. Farmers and industrialists are rewarded with valuable credits for initiating and operating carbon-negative projects, while polluting enterprises purchase these credits to offset their own greenhouse gas emissions.
Bamboo cultivation has gained significant attention to capture atmospheric carbon, and our CSR program, along with others, now explores the potential for our schoolteachers and students to earn income through carbon credit projects.
